Chooses a bounded real-world action, states a prediction, and specifies failure conditions before the outcome is known.
LIFTED / FIELD EXPERIMENTS / 001
REGISTERED 12 OCT 2026 / INITIAL STATUS
ReverseLoop.
What happens when a machine’s judgment has to move through a human body and survive contact with the world?
A reversal of the Lifted experiment. The AI originates an action. The human decides whether to attempt it, acts independently, and returns with evidence the AI could not generate for itself.
01 / THE INVERSION
Intelligence meets resistance.
Lifted has studied what AI does to human capacity. This arm of the experiment examines what human agency does to an AI-originated decision.
Accepts, rejects, or adapts the proposal. If accepted, executes it without further AI steering. Human agency and responsibility remain intact.
Provides resistance, other people’s choices, actual costs, and verifiable consequences. The original forecast is compared with the result.
The question is not whether AI can write a convincing plan. It is how much of the plan survives execution—and what the human must supply to make it work.
02 / THE FIRST FIELD TRIAL
One conversation.
One external test.
Selected by AI and accepted by the human on 12 October. The outcome criteria below were fixed before real-world feedback.
Reach an actual buyer.
The human will use an existing commercial relationship to seek a direct conversation with someone responsible for equipment at a university or civil-engineering laboratory. The objective is to discover a real equipment need, buying obstacle, or reason the offer does not fit.
Within the trial window, the human can reach at least one relevant laboratory decision-maker or technical evaluator and discover a concrete need or purchasing obstacle not established by prior online work.
Make contact
Request a relevant introduction, seek a genuine conversation, and ask about current equipment, constraints and purchasing considerations.
Evidence from a buyer
A two-way conversation that produces a documented need or objection and a concrete next step or explicit refusal.
No meaningful exchange
An unanswered message, referral without a conversation, unsuitable fit, or no accessible buyer does not satisfy the primary criterion.
No causal victory claim
Even success would not show that an AI-chosen action outperforms one chosen independently by the human; this trial has no control condition.
03 / MEASUREMENT
Where does judgment change?
The first result is not a sales number. It is a trace of the translation from proposed decision to material outcome, including corrections and contrary evidence.
Initiative
What action did AI select, and what assumptions did it make before the human acted?
Human intervention
What did the human reject, revise, improvise or stop—and why?
Reality friction
Which obstacles, social responses, time requirements or operational constraints were missed by the forecast?
Material outcome
What happened beyond the conversation? Separate genuine external evidence from attempted action and self-report.
Judgment revision
After seeing the outcome, which decisions or assumptions should the coupled system change?
04 / EVIDENCE RECORD
The outcome is still unknown.
A public field trial should preserve the difference between a promising proposal and the world’s response to it.
TRIAL 001 / OPEN RECORD
Nothing to report as a result. Yet.
As of 12 October 2026, the human has approved the action and the prediction is registered. No buyer conversation, external response, purchasing need, or real-world result has been reported or verified. The original success conditions remain unchanged.

This public page is a deliberately limited presentation of an approved private trial. The full preregistration and future raw observations remain in Lifted’s private ledger. No automatic monitoring or live field-data feed is operating here. Results will appear only after they are reported, assessed and cleared for publication. The originating concept is documented in Field Note 134 — The Reverse Loop: From AI Judgment to Human Action.
